Provision of relevant data for the economic model D18

For this task we will provide data for the study from project partners on the socio-techno-economic assessment of Renewable Energy and Energy Storage (ES) system integration in urban and rural areas. We can use ES as a means of integrating intermittent renewable energy into energy networks and, in turn, we can decouple energy production and utilization. Therefore, ES has a significant effect on the reduction of burning of fossil fuels. The data produced can be used by partners to study different scenarios in both India and the UK, of the amount of energy to be transmitted by the grid and the utilization of the excess energy through Thermal Energy Storage integration.

Objectives

  • Socio-techno-economic assessment of Renewable Energy and Energy Storage.
  • Identification of the benefits of energy storage technologies to deploy renewable energy in rural areas and small and isolated grids.
  • Through both Indian and UK scenarios, assess the amount of energy to be transmitted by the grid and the utilization of the excess energy through thermal energy storage integration.
